The Parks in Pinellas County Florida
Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg 100 Parks in 100 Weeks! Folly Farms Nature Preserve
Dr Martin Luther King Street N
Safety Harbor (Off McMullen-Booth Road just
North of Main St., Dunedin.) Just how much this little corner of Nature has grown and improved - with the help of Folly Farmer volunteers and city workers - since we first visited two years ago is really dramatic and the improvements continue.

From the parking lot we pass by the Community Orchard and children's play area and enter the Butterfly Garden. We see many types of butterflies, depending on the time of year as well as different flowers in bloom to which they are attracted. You will find out more about it all through helpful information signs throughout the park.
We noticed many plants in the greenhouse area growing in pots and awaiting their places in the park. We have a feeling that many might find their place in the elaborate labyrinth just beyond the mysterious elf’s tree.
Note - the gazebo may be just the place to hold your next special event. As you walk among the Live Oaks you may be curious about the “Wind Phone” booth you are passing. Take time to stop and learn more about it. It’s something quite special that we had not heard of before and could have a very positive affect on many people.
There is so much more to see including a Nature trail, fire pit and a large observation garden area. This Park comes alive with lights and decorations during the holiday Season. Other special events are held here throughout the year and the public is always invited.
Folly Farms Nature Preserve is a quiet and peaceful place to pick a seat on a bench swing and spend some quality time with Nature.
“Picnic areas are first come, first served. Gazebo Rental: Resident $60/hr & $70 Non-Resident. Firepit Rate: $25 for both Resident and non-resident.” Prices are always subject to change.
