The Parks in Pinellas County Florida
Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg 100 Parks in 100 Weeks! Eagle Lake Park 1800 Keene Rd Largo “This 163-acre park originally belonged to the Taylor family, one of the original pioneer families in Pinellas County. The Taylor's used the property for cattle grazing and as a citrus grove. The park comprises two parcels the county purchased in 1998 and 2006.”

A large and beautiful park located close by. You’ll find plenty of parking, wide walking trails – both paved and shell - and two-thousand feet of boardwalk over the wetlands. Several bodies of water offer glimpses of local birds, turtles and other wildlife with piers where catch and release fishing is allowed.
There are six large picnic shelters that can be reserved as well as restrooms, a playground, and a dog park. We have seen fox squirrels, turtles, tortoises, alligators, osprey, ducks, egrets – something different each time we visit. If you have never visited, give it a try. You can drive through the Park and see much of its beauty but the trails are most enjoyable. |
